Ayush Badoni smashes 165 off 55 balls to light up Arun Jaitley Stadium
Our rising star Ayush Badoni lit up the Delhi Premier League T20 with a scintillating 165 off just 55 balls, leading South Delhi Superstarz to a colossal total of 308/5 against North Delhi Strikers.
The Arun Jaitley Stadium became the stage for Badoni’s Gazab Andaz, as he hammered 19 sixes and 8 fours, finishing with a remarkable strike rate of 300.
Captaining the South Delhi team, Badoni, along with Priyansh Arya, stitched together a 286-run partnership. Priyansh also delivered a fiery knock, scoring 120 off 50 balls, including an incredible six consecutive sixes in the 12th over.
The partnership began in the third over when South Delhi were reduced to 13/1 and was broken in the penultimate over of the innings with the wicket of Badoni.
After leading his team to an imposing 308/5, Badoni displayed exceptional leadership to restrict the opposition to 196/8 and secure a commanding 112-run victory. He was named the Player of the Match for his exceptional performance.
With 515 runs from seven matches, Badoni is the second-highest run-scorer in the Delhi Premier League 2024. He has scored these runs at a blistering strike rate of 226.87 and an impressive average of 64.38.
Having been an integral part of our team for the past three seasons, Badoni’s latest innings is yet another reminder of his explosive potential.
In IPL 2024, he amassed 235 runs in 12 innings, including a gutsy fifty against the Delhi Capitals that lifted us from 94/7 to 167/7. Time and again, Badoni has proven to be a game-changer, whether it’s his stunning 54 on debut in IPL 2022 against Gujarat Titans or his match-winning finishes after coming in lower down the order.
At just 24, Badoni still has a long road ahead of him and these types of performances are sure to come by more frequently. So buckle up LSG fans - Badoni is just getting started!
