IPL 2025: All you need to know about our overseas contingent

As our boys gear up for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, our aim will be to clinch our maiden title.
Under our newly appointed captain Rishabh Pant and head coach Justin Langer, we have assembled a strong squad with a good mix of Indian and overseas cricketers.
With less than a week before IPL 2025 commences, we take a look at our overseas contingent who will play a significant role in our quest for IPL glory.
Nicholas Pooran
Our flamboyant southpaw Nicholas Pooran will once again play a key role in our batting department in the upcoming edition of the IPL. The big-hitting left-handed batter was one of our standout players last season, having amassed 499 runs in 14 matches at an impressive average of 62.38 and a strike rate of 178.21. He slammed three fifties in IPL 2024. Since making his IPL debut in 2019, Pooran has scored 1,769 runs in 76 games, including nine half-centuries.
Aiden Markram
At the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, we bolstered our batting department by roping in South Africa’s T20I captain Aiden Markram. Having accumulated 4,405 runs in his T20 career, Markram will bring wealth of experience to our batting line-up. The stylish right-handed batter has scored 995 runs in 44 IPL matches and has recorded five fifties in the marquee T20 league. He can also contribute with his right-arm off-spin on spin-friendly Indian pitches. Known for his astute leadership skills, Markram will be a great help for our new skipper Rishabh Pant in IPL 2025.

David Miller
We have also strengthened our middle-order by acquiring the services of South Africa’s swashbuckling batter David Miller. Having made his IPL debut in 2012, Miller has been a match-winner for his former teams - Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans. The southpaw has already amassed 2,924 runs in 130 IPL matches at an average of 36.55 and a strike rate of 139.24. He has slammed one century and 13 half-centuries in his IPL career. With more than 11,000 T20 runs, Miller will play a crucial role in our IPL 2025 campaign.

Mitchell Marsh
Mitchell Marsh will don the Lucknow Super Giants’ jersey for IPL 2025. We reinforced our squad as we added the Australian all-rounder to our set-up at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. Having accumulated 4,425 runs and bagged 85 wickets in 188 T20 matches, Marsh has impressive numbers in the T20 format. The new LSG recruit has also scored 666 runs and picked up 37 wickets in his short IPL career. With his all-round capabilities and leadership credentials, Marsh will be a valuable asset for us in IPL 2025.
Matthew Breetzke
Having hogged the limelight with Durban’s Super Giants in SA20, we signed Matthew Breetzke at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. Our talented top-order batter has already represented the South Africa national cricket team in all three formats. The 26-year-old grabbed the headlines after he registered the highest score by a batter on ODI debut. During a Pakistan Tri-Nation Series clash, Breetzke smashed 150 off 148 balls against New Zealand in Lahore in February 2025. He will now aim to grab his opportunity in IPL 2025.

Shamar Joseph
We have shown our faith in our young speedster Shamar Joseph as we exercised our Right to Match (RTM) option to bring him back to our set-up at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. While our West Indies fast bowler played just one game for us last season, Joseph will look to impress in IPL 2025. We previously roped in the talented pacer as a replacement for Mark Wood last season after he picked up seven wickets in the second innings to guide West Indies to a historic Test win against Australia at the Gabba.
