It’s official! IPL 2025 Mega Auction to be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah
The date and venue are set! The IPL 2025 Mega Auction will be held at the Abady Al Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25.
We were in Dubai last year for the IPL 2024 Player Auction but this one is different. Like our first-ever auction back in 2022, this one is the mega one, which allows us the opportunity to build the core for a champion squad for the next three years.
The last three seasons have been a learning experience for us and we’ll be taking in the lessons when we walk into the Al Johar Arena in Jeddah later this month,
Prior to the auction, the teams were given the opportunity to retain six players, including a maximum of five capped internationals.
We made the most out of it by retaining the fav five - Nicky P, Mayank Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohsin Khan and Ayush Badoni. While Pooran, Mayank and Ravi were our capped picks, Mohsin and Badoni were retained under the uncapped category.
Having spent ₹51 crore on the retentions, we still have a ₹69 crore purse to splurge on 20 players during the mega auction.
We will also have one RTM (Right to Match) card to play during the auction. RTM allows teams to buy back their released players by matching the highest bid.
There’s a grand pool of 1574 players, including 1,165 Indians and 409 from overseas, to choose from at the IPL 2025 mega auction.
We know what we need to do and we’ll make sure we walk out of Jeddah in Gazab Andaz and a champion team in tow.
