KL Rahul has been selected as part of the 18-member Indian squad for the highly-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.

As part of the iconic tour Down Under, India will face Australia in a five-match Test series, starting on November 22. The first Test will be played in Perth before the caravan moves to Adelaide Oval, the Gabba, the MCG and the SCG, in the same order.

Rohit Sharma has been selected as the captain of the Indian team for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy while Jasprit Bumrah will be his deputy.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Friday, along with India’s 15-member squad for the four-match T20I series against South Africa, starting from November 8.

Unfortunately, our star pacer Mayank Yadav won’t be a part of the touring party due to an injury.

Mayank, whose stock skyrocketed after a series of impressive performances for us in the IPL last season, made his international debut in the recently concluded T20I series against Bangladesh.

The young speedster played all three matches of his debut series and impressed with his performances, picking up four wickets at an economy of 6.91.

Tipped to be a big part of Indian cricket’s future, Mayank was expected to make the squad for the T20Is in South Africa as well but was ultimately not considered because of an injury.

However, the Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian touring side to South Africa will feature Ravi Bishnoi. The ace spinner was part of the Indian team for the T20I series vs Bangladesh as well.

Though Bishnoi failed to make the team in the first two matches, he returned with impressive figures of 3/30 when he was handed the chance to play the final match in Hyderabad.

Bishnoi was also part of the Gujarat team which beat Andhra Pradesh by one wicket in a thrilling Ranji Trophy 2024-25 contest. He contributed to the victory with four wickets across both innings.

We wish KL and Bishnoi all the best for their upcoming tours and hope Mayank makes a speedy recovery.
