Our skipper KL Rahul and spin maestro Ravi Bishnoi have been selected for India’s  white-ball tour of Sri Lanka starting on July 27.

The BCCI announced separate 15-member squads for three ODIs and three T20s against Sri Lanka on Thursday. Rahul is part of the Indian ODI team while Bishnoi found a place in the T20I set-up.

Rahul was our top run-getter in the IPL 2024, scoring 520 runs from 14 matches at an average of 37.14. He also had 16 dismissals behind the wicket, the joint-most in IPL this year alongside Rishabh Pant.

Rahul had also played a stellar role in India’s ODI World Cup 2023 campaign where the team reached the final. He scored 452 runs, including a hundred and two fifties, from 10 innings at an average of 75.33. He also kept wickets during the World Cup, effecting 17 dismissals from 11 matches.

Meanwhile, Bishnoi finds a place in the T20I team after his impressive showing for India in the recently concluded five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe.

The star leg-spinner was the joint second-highest wicket-taker in the series with six wickets from five games at an average of 17.66. He also recorded career-best T20 figures of 4/13 in the first T20I.

Bishnoi is also our top wicket-taker in the history of IPL with 39 wickets from 43 matches.

India will start their tour of Sri Lanka with three T20Is starting July 27 at Pallekele. The action will shift to Colombo for the three ODIs from August 2.

Wishing our two Super Giants and the Indian cricket team all the best for the tour!
