Our captain Rishabh Pant shared his thoughts after a tough home defeat against Delhi Capitals in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Tuesday.

Put in to bat, Aiden Markram continued his brilliant form as he scored 52 off 33 balls, along with contributions from Mitchell Marsh (45) and Ayush Badoni (36) to power us to 159/6 in our 20 overs at our home, the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Defending 159, Markram later provided us with two crucial scalps, however, it wasn’t enough as the Capitals chased down the target in 17.5 overs.

“We knew we were 20 runs short. In Lucknow, toss played a big part. Whoever is bowling first, they get a lot of help from the wicket. We just had to stay back, we just couldn't get it away. It always happens in Lucknow, in the second innings, the wicket gets better and batter to bat on, that's how the game goes and you can't be complaining,” Pant said at the post-match presentation.

“I haven't thought about anything as of now, just finished the match, we are gonna regroup, realign and refocus again. Just going to be playing the next match from a fresh start,” he added.

Despite the defeat, we are still in the race for the IPL 2025 playoffs with 10 points from nine matches.

Under the leadership of Rishabh, our Super Giants will now aim to return to winning ways against Mumbai Indians in our upcoming IPL 2025 clash at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.
