In a move sure to excite the LSG Brigade, bowling legend Zaheer Khan is set to join our team as a mentor, taking on a crucial role in shaping our future.

ZAK, now 45, represented India from 2000 to 2014 and inspired a generation of Indian cricketers with his spirited performances. He was the joint-highest wicket-taker in the 2011 ODI World Cup and played a key role in ending India’s 28-year title wait.

His addition to our backroom staff brings a fresh dynamic as he joins forces with head coach Justin Langer and a formidable coaching team that includes Lance Klusener, Adam Voges and Jonty Rhodes.

The former left-handed seamer, known to make the ball swing in both directions, is the most successful Indian fast bowler in Tests after Kapil Dev, with 311 wickets. He is also a veteran of 92 Tests, 200 ODIs and 17 T20Is.

In the IPL, Zaheer featured in exactly 100 games, picking up 102 wickets at an economy of 7.59. He played his last IPL game in 2017 before retiring from all forms of cricket.

Following his international retirement, Zaheer was involved with Mumbai Indians (MI), where he served as the global head of development and also as the director of cricket. His strategic insights and player management skills were instrumental in MI's successful years in the IPL.

With Zaheer Khan on board, our boys will look to bounce back stronger in IPL 2025 after narrowly missing out on a playoff spot in 2024.
