Biography
With big-hitting prowess and wily seam-bowling abilities, Marcus Stoinis knows how to leave a ‘mark’ on games with impactful performances. The muscular Australian made his IPL debut in 2016 for Kings XI Punjab. He moved to Delhi Capitals in 2020 and then to the Lucknow Super Giants in the 2022 season.
He scored 156 runs from 11 matches for LSG last season coming in lower down the order. His best knock of the season (38 off 17) came against Rajasthan Royals. With the ball, Stoinis took 3/23 against KKR, including two in the final over to help LSG win the match by just two runs. Now that’s impact!
Stoinis will once again look to make a difference with his all-round abilities in IPL 2023. His best IPL season came for Delhi Capitals in 2020 when he scored 352 runs with a strike rate of 148.52 and three half-centuries.
Stoinis played a major role in helping Delhi Capitals make the final in 2020. His man of the match performance (38 off 27 and 3/26) against Sunrisers Hyderabad in qualifier 2 remains one of the most impactful all-round performances in the IPL.
