Biography

With a big burly solid physique, Romario Shepherd epitomises the attributes of a perfect all-rounder capable of hitting the ball far and long coupled with the ability to bowl at any stage of the innings. Born in 1994, the Guyanese cricketer first burst onto the scene in 2016 with an impressive 3/37 on debut in the local Regional Super50 competition.

Following his consistent performances, Shepherd earned a contract with Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League in 2018. He was later named in the West Indies squad for the series against Afghanistan the following year and impressed in his debut game with the figures of 2/32.

The 28-year-old has so far managed to pick up 88 wickets across 82 T20 matches alongside boasting a mammoth strike rate of 145 with the bat. After making his IPL debut in the previous edition, Shepherd was signed by the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2023 auctions for INR 50 lacs.

A designated finisher with the ability to trouble the batters with his pace and swing, Romario Shepherd will look to make noteworthy contributions in IPL 2023 season.
