Biography
Swapnil Singh is a left-arm orthodox spinner and a right-hand batter who hails from Rae Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. He made his first-class debut for Baroda at the young age of 14 years. Swapnil has featured in 70 first-class and 61 list A matches and has scalped 164 and 67 wickets respectively.
Singh is a handy contributor with the bat and has also proved his mettle by becoming the leading run-scorer for Baroda in the Ranji trophy in the 2017-18 season with 565 runs in 6 matches.
Though he is yet to play an IPL game, he has played 67 T20 matches and has picked up 58 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 6.96. His best figures came in a Syed Mushtaq Ali 2014-15 game in which he bagged 6/19 against Saurashtra.
He has been a part of the Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings squads in the IPL. He was roped in by Lucknow Super Giants for IPL 2023.
